We work in very close coordination with ITC’s Enterprise Competitiveness Section and are well positioned to offer trainings having the best content, using learner focused interactive methodology and practices in the local contexts.
Our multi-disciplined approach and extensive experience in business and commerce related trainings and strong business and consulting capacities are manifest through training around 1500 teacher trainers. These master trainers have a rich background and come form both Social Sciences as well as Management Sciences back ground. The participants are selected by the Higher Education Commission. We have the unique privilege of developing the Training Module on “Communication Skills” peer reviewed and commended by the team of Professors of Michigan State University, USA. The module shall be used for TOTs to train three thousand teacher trainers in the Pakistani Universities all over the country. This is in total consonance with UNDP Evaluation Office notes on Enterprise Development Trainings that “Success… depends on the ….quality and commitment of the trainers and facilitators…selection of trainers including some business experience and an intimate knowledge of the local business environment. Training of the facilitators…enhances their effectiveness in addressing entrepreneurial need”.
Through our trained academic affiliates all over Pakistan including KP, GB, Balochistan, Sindh and Punjab along with institutional partnership with Institute of Professional Development (IPD) International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI), Abbasyn University, Peshawar, University of Central Punjab, Lahore we are striving for the following Millennium Development Goals in alignment with ITC’s strategic plans:
MDG 1: Poverty Reduction:Support to poverty reduction by realigning trade related technical assistance into areas that are dominated by the poor and marginalized populations. An example of such assistance is the SCMP Programme, which aims to bring small-scale entrepreneurs into the supply value chains and also creating effective backward and forward linkages.
MDG 2: Promotion of Gender Equality and Empowerment of Women in Trade:
Continue to help government and trade support institutions to take a gender inclusive approach to developing entrepreneurs and enterprises including but not limited to export & trade promotion strategies with the aim of realizing the human potential for sustainable livelihood.
THINK GLOBAL; ACT LOCAL: This maxim has enabled us to seek international partnerships and resultantly we are working in association with APCEO- Asia Pacific CEO Association Worldwide, which is a forum of leaders from industry and business, head of states and policy makers influencing economic power hubs, head of states, with its central offices in Beijing, China. As its member we have been invited to the previous summits and are regular contributors involving strategic dialogues providing linkages to large scale enterprises at the international level. The theme for its ‘First Global Economic Leaders Summit’ in Sept 2011 has been driven by China’s President Hu Jintao’s vision “…Let the enterprises play a key role…” For us the key role would be to identify the ‘real’ market niche for the products and services of the micro and small scale entrepreneurs’ and enterprises and provide them the opportunity of linking up with the actual “value chain" that is presently amiss. We are focused on achieving this through inculcating the entrepreneurial skills including creating awareness about the linkages with the large enterprises that are looking for indigenous resources-services and products, innovation, and logistically convenient geographic locations.

When is Action Research used? Action research is used in real situations, rather than in contrived, experimental ones since its primary focus is on solving real problems. Accordingly professional educators become involved in community problem-solving. Its practitioners, not surprisingly, operate mainly out of educational institutions, and focus on development of curriculum, professional development, and applying learning in a socio-economic context.

and Ghana, highlighting the creative skills and capacity of African designers to
supply global fashion houses and varied market segments. In 2008, the women
delivered 80,000 beautiful necklaces to an Italian distributor who, in 2009,
entered into new sourcing agreements with the group for other ethical fashion
products.
